Sr M Ena BS (69) of TheCongregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Southern Province, passed away on April 6th2021at 6.00 am at Bethany Convent, Vadakangulam, Tamil Nadu. She hails from Karkal from the Diocese of Udupi.She is the daughter of late MrPiada Pereira andMrs Mary Pereira. She has 2 nieces in the Congregation – Sr Celine Pereira and Sr Vineetha Pereira. Her funeral rites will be held on 7thApril 2021at 3:00 pm at BethanyConvent, Vadakangulam, Tamil Nadu.
She was very prayerful, loving and a joyful person, giving life to the communities and all the people with whom she lived and worked with. Being a committed and dedicated person, she faithfully managed all the given tasks with efficiency. As a nurse by profession she served in all our hospital communities and was administrator of the hospital at Vadakangulam from 1998.
Sr Ena has rendered her services in the communities of Concetta Hospital, Kinnigoli, Bethany Home-Identhakarai, Bethany Convent, Mangalore, Bethany convent, Badyar, Bethany convent, Bidar and Bethany Convent, Vadakangulam
Sr Ena was suffering with post Covid-19 effects from the month of September, 2020. She developed fungal infections in the mouth and it spread even to her skull.In the month of January, 2021 she was taken to Vellore CMC Medical College for advance treatment. After a month’s treatment there, she improved her health and was brought back to the community on 26th February, 2021. Then she was taken care lovingly by the community sisters. She was happy and was slowly recouping her health. sincea few days, she was growing weak and was unable to take food orally. So from a week she was fed on nasal tube. She received the sacrament of the anointing on March 30th. This morning (06.04.2021) at 6am while sleeping, the Lord called her into eternity as she passed away with a silentmassive cardiac arrest.
I extend my sincere condolences to Sr Santhosh Maria, the Provincial Superior and her team as well as Sr Shoba Joseph, the Superior and the community at Bethany Convent, Vadakangulam.I am grateful to them for the loving care that they bestowed on her especially during her illness.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her; may she rest in peace.
