August 16, 2017: The Annual meeting of the Medical Coordinators was held on 12.08.2017 at Bethany Mother House, Mangaluru. Sr Shanthi Priya, the General Co-Ordinator for Socio-Medical Apostolate, in her welcome address, invited the participants to move from practising just profession to mission, so that we add life to the years and not mere years to our life. She called upon the sisters to aim at total wellbeing of a person after the example of Jesus the healer in our mission of healing. Sr Rose Celine, our superior General, in her key note address enumerated the pitiable health system of India and exhorted the sisters to enter into the struggles of sick and suffering and to be empathetic in our approach of caring the sick and the aged. Dr Naveen Rudolf Rodrigues, the Consultant in Palliative Care at AJ Hospital and the resource person of the day, conducted an informative, educative and inspiring session by briefing the participants on Organ Donation, Palliative Care and Geriatric Care respectively. It was followed by reporting session by all the provinces/CA/DA respectively. The priorities for the future plans were discussed. In her concluding address Sr Rose Celine enlightened the participants to the existing health care system which is not poor friendly. Sr Wilma Aranha proposed the vote of thanks.
