Guwahati (North East Province) February 05,2018: Immediately after the celebration of the birth of Christ, fifty six Sisters of the Northeast Province set themselves into 24 hours adoration for a second time with the purpose of spiritual renewal of the Province, to grow in spiritual depth and to be energetic missionaries. In keeping with the theme of the XVI General Chapter, ‘Transformation unto Christ through Fiat to be a prophetic witness’, those holy hours were moments to revitalize our consecrated life and to re-energize with greater enthusiasm in mission. It was also a moment to encounter Jesus personally.

On the 4th of January 2018, in the evening at 5.00 pm, all the Sisters along with the provincial team enthusiastically gathered in the Provincial House chapel to begin the adoration that ended on the 5th of January 2018 at 6.00 pm with the Eucharistic celebration. All the retreatants along with the candidates as well as the junior sisters who had come for the annual juniorate programme formed six groups to take turns to pray in groups.  Each hour of the adoration was led by different Sisters on various intentions- praying for peace in the world, the Church and lay leadership, persecuted Church in India, Superior General and her team, each of the provinces and their intentions. The intentions also included renewal of the Congregation, our various apostolates, formation, all the superiors and communities of the Province, future plans of the Province and all the intentions of the Congregation in general and for the holiness of members in particular.

'For God was truly here in this place” (Gen 28:16). It was such a moving experience to see the young and the old, sick and the healthy, keeping awake at night, praying for various needs through Mercy rosaries, psalms, hymns and spontaneous prayers. The silent and prayerful atmosphere pervaded the entire house and moved every inmate to spend as many hours as possible in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. We are sure that such occasions will certainly enkindle our zeal, re-energize our apostolic drive and bring anew the spirit of the Founder in today’s context.
