Mangalore 29, August: We 44 Bethany sistersfrom Mangalore set out from our comfort zones to be one with the people of flood victims of Kerala at Kottapuam Diocese. Our hearts moved with compassion for those people who had lost their lives, properties and left homeless after the disastrous incident. The people have been battling with the consequences of this inevitable natural calamity. We responded to the clarion call of our Superior General Sr Rose Celine to share our spiritual wealth and human resource by coming out of our comfort and secured zones.
It was heart breaking sight to see how the people were subjected to this natural calamity and lost everything and left with absolutely nothing. Our presence with love, care and compassion enkindled in them a ray ofhope to start a new as we engaged ourselves in cleaning and clearing of their houses and parishes. This experience has made a remarkable impact on us and the lives of the people. All were motivated to work with greater zeal and vigor for the betterment of the humanity. The Pesence of Sr Santhosh Maria the provincial Superior of Southern Province was indeed a good example.
