April 24, 2024 was a day of rejoicing and celebration for Sisters of Southern Province. Sr Dapni Nihetha and Sr Josephine Mallavalli made their Perpetual Profession during the Solemn Eucharist officiated by Mgr Jenson Puthenveettil Vicar General of Calicut Diocese at 9.30am, at Bethany Provincial House Chevayur. Rev Sr Shanthi Priya the Assistant Superior General accepted their vows on behalf of the Church and the Congregation. The ceremony of Perpetual Profession was followed by Litany of the Saints, seeking their intercession on the Sisters who offered their life to the Lord in the service of the humanity. Vicar General Msgr Jenson in his homily exhorted to grow in holiness and deeper commitment to the Lord, the everlasting bridegroom
The day’s celebration was made holy and blissful by the presence, prayers and blessings of 16 priests from the Diocese of Calicut. Rev Fr Satheesh the Parish Priest of Idinthakarai, Tamilnadu, the parish of Sr Dapni concelebrated at the Holy Mass. The parents, relatives, friends and benefactors of Sr Dapni Nihetha and Sr Josephine Mallavalli and a good number of religious priests and nuns from the neighboring communities, Bethany Communities in the Province, shared in this solemn celebration.
The day was well organized and made meaningful by the unceasing efforts of the Sr Judy Varghese, the Provincial Superior, Sr Priya Rose, Sr Sujaya, Sr Alphonsa and Sr Hermina, the Provincial Councillors, community sisters at Bethany Provincial House, Sisters from other communities who participated in this magnificent celebration of manifestation of God’s love to Sr Dapni and Sr Josephin.
