14th July 2019 was a day of thanksgiving as Bethany celebrated its 98th Foundation day. A Eucharistic celebration in St Sebastian Church, Bendur at 6.45 am was officiated by Bishop Emeritus Rt Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza and con-celebrated by Fr Vincent Monteiro, the Parish Priest, Fr Alwyn Peris the Assistant Parish Priest of Bendur. A large number of parishioners, Sisters of different Congregations and Bethany Sisters participated in this Solemn Eucharistic celebration.

Fr Vincent Monteiro in his homily gave a befitting message that the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas listened to the voice of God and acted upon his inspirations to bring the light of Christ into the lives of many. Bishop Emeritus Rt Rev Aloysius P D’Souza urged the faithful to pray that the Diocese of Mangalore and the Parish of Bendur in particular be blessed with a Saint in RFC Mascarenhas and may all of us receive heavenly blessings through the intercession of this saintly man, the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas. After the Mass, a piece of cake added to the sweetness of the day’s significance.
