Delegation Abroad, a unit of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany made a significant mark on 27th October 2021 with the Installation of Delegation Superior Sr Latha and her Councillors Sr Irene Sequeira, Sr Ignatia D´Souza, Sr Daisy Maria and Sr Smitha by Sr Rose Celine, the Superior General at Aachen, Germany. The Delegation Abroad comprises of 16 communities in six countries-Germany; France, Italy and Vatican in Europe; Mauritania and Senegal in North West Africa, at the turn of the Centenary of the Congregation founded in Mangalore in 1921 by Servant of God Raymond FC Mascarenhas.
Fr Josef Voss, the former Parish Priest officiated at the Eucharistic celebration which preceded the Installation ceremony, in thanksgiving for the leadership of Sr Carmella who was the Delegation Superior for eight years and her Councillors and invoked blessings on Sr Latha and her team.
During the Installation in her exhortation Sr Rose Celine the Superior General called upon the new team to build a Delegation where God is sought and loved above all else; promote communion in communities and facilitate effective participation in mission in the spirit of ‘Fratelli Tutti’.Thereafter, Sr Latha pledged to fulfill her mission according to the Charism and spirit of the Institute and work whole-heartedly for the spiritual growth and welfare of the members, after which the Councillors promised to collaborate with her in a spirit of reverence and loyalty.
During the felicitation programme which began with a prayer dance,Sr Daisy Maria voiced her sentiments of profound gratitude to Sr Carmella and her councilors Sr Latha, Sr Lucy Maria, Sr Anita Martis and Sr Jossy Maria for their relentless service. Sr Lucy Maria introduced the newly constituted team to the assembly with their dynamic qualities of leadership. Sr Rose Celine the Superior General felicitated them with floral bouquets, encouraging them to live their ‘Fiat’ with faith and courage being prepared to face the challenges of modern times. Sr Prameela Pinto compered the programme. Sr Smitha proposed vote of thanks.The context of COVID – 19 protocol provided the opportunity for some to witness the occasion personally while all other members of the Delegation participated in it virtually. This momentous occasion culminated in Agape.
