The blessing and inauguration of the new block of Bethany Girls Sec. School, Mwanga, was held on 10th September 2016, in the presence of the dignitaries - Rev Sr Lillis, the Asst Superior General, Sr Christine, the Procurator General, Fr Peter, the parish priest of Divine Mercy Church Mwanga, Mr Daniel Divani Omari, the Chairperson of the School Board, and a good number of priests, sisters, parents, and well wishers of the school who witnessed the function.
Sr Lillis, the Asst Superior General, inaugurated the new block consisting of laboratories, library and a multipurpose hall. Rev Fr Peter, parish priest of Divine Mercy Church, Mwanga, conducted the rite of blessing the school building and prayed for the well being of all teachers, students and who would enter the portals of our school. This was followed by the thanksgiving Holy Eucharist at 10.00 am by Rev Fr Peter along with three priests. He complimented the services of Bethany Sisters towards education and praised them for bringing up such a beautiful school for the benefit of shaping the future of the children.
After the Mass, there was ‘Parents’ Day’ celebration. It was an awesome experience that rocked the hall with spectrum of music, songs, jokes, skits and dances and brought laughter and delighted the gathering. Sr Lillis, in her presidential speech, spoke of the role of the teachers and the parents to tap the potentialities of children and never to consider any one useless. Sr Lillis and Sr Christine, who paved the way for Tanzania mission, were honored with a garland and a shawl.
