April 22, 2023: On this blessed morning four young maidens went in procession to the altar to profess their willing YES to the Lordat Bethany Convent, Ushamatu, Ranchi. Sr Anna Maria Kisku, Sr Binita Barla, of the Eastern Province,Sr Pratima Kiro, of the Northern Province,and Sr Seemalex Beck of the Guwahati Province joyfully made their perpetual commitment to the Lord.
The solemn liturgyofficiated by Most Rev Felix Toppo SJ, concelebrated by 6 other priests enabled everyone present to give thanks to the Lord for the gift of their precious vocation to be the brides of Christ. In his homily, Most Rev Felix Toppo SJ, Archbishop of Ranchi Archdiocese, emphasised the importance of always reminding oneself of one's commitment as a bride of Jesus Christ."Cultivate intimacy with Jesus," he appealedto the sisters, professing their YES to the Lord. He prayed that they learn to develop a sincere, loving relationship with Jesus, asexpressed in the Song of Solomon.

I won't go back on my word or change what my mouth has said.” She urged the sisters to be faithful to their commitment even when buffeted by problems and challenges.Sr Erasma, Provincial Superior of Northern Province along withSr Rose Margaret her councillor; Sr Benedicta Aranha, Provincial Superior of Guwahati Province along with Sr Shwethaher Councillor, joined the sisters in thanking the Lord for His blessings over them.
Around 250 people were present on the joyous occasion, along with religious brothers and sisters. People were delightedto be witnesses to this sacred ceremony for the first time andfelt proud thattheir daughters would always belong to Jesus and be a part of Bethany family. Tears of joy began to flow from their eyes with joy and happiness. All those who were part of the celebration had a taste of Bethany hospitality. May the generous response of the four be an inspiration for many young girls to answer Jesus' call through Bethany.
Let Bethany grow, flower and bear fruit in plenty!
