Seva Sadan Doddabelavangala is in Doddaballapur Taluk, a bustling town in Bangalore rural district in the State of Karnataka. In response to the XI General Chapter of the Congregation held in 1986, sisters ventured into social action. Mother Sylvine, the Superior General, requested Fr Claude D’Souza S.J to orient the sisters into social action. On 8th September 1988 Sisters landed at Doddabelavangala, along with Sr Nora, the General Councilor, Fr Joseph Moolkara CMF, the Parish priest of S. Peter’s Church Doddaballpur blessed the residence of the sisters and offered the Eucharistic celebration. Sr Agnesia was appointed as the Superior, Sr Susheela, Sr Praveen, Ms Leena D’Mello, and Ms Mabel were the pioneers of the new Mission.
New house was blessed on 10th June 1992. It was named as Seva Sadan. The Sisters were actively involved in pastoral work in the parish at Doddaballapur. As the years rolled by Seva Sadan became a motivating and guiding force in Bangalore rural District. Religious and social activists began to come to Seva Sadan to experience life in a village. They extended the programmes to 60 villages. Sisters organized programmes for the persons with disability, women empowerment through self help groups and vocational skills. In addition to these, they also started mobile clinic and special school for the mentally challenged children.
