Teaching  Catechism

With the purpose of providing better educational facilities both for candidates and Junior Sisters of Northern Province, a community of this Province was started in Mangalore. On 4 October 2006, the   convent and hostel were blessed by  Most Rev Aloysius Paul D’ Souza, the Bishop of Mangalore, and inaugurated by Sr Jyoti, the Superior General.  The pioneering group consisted of Sr Nynette, the Superior, and student sisters- Sr Vanita Veena,  Sr Jessy Maria, Sr Jasmitha Jyoti, Sr Leena Coutino and  Sr Ranjana. Prabhat Tara, the hostel, also offers low cost boarding facilities for the girls rushing to the city of Mangalore for their education.  Besides the hostel and the formation of the candidates, sisters are involved in pastoral work at Bendur Parish. Sr Shobha is the present superior of the convent. It is a common house for the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
