Mohali is a commercial city lying adjacent to the city of Chandigarh. To this beautiful and captivating place, Bishop Ignatius L. Mascarenhas, the Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese, invited the Bethany Sisters to manage the Infant Jesus Convent School, Mohali, which is owned by the diocese. In Punjab, Mohali is a part of Tricity of Chandigarh.
On 20 June 2015, Bethany Convent, which is a part of the school building was blessed by the Bishop. Thereafter, Sr Jyoti, the Provincial Superior, installed Sr Tara as the Superior of the Community with Sr Martha Nancy and Sr Laveena Pinto as members.
The entire community is involved in the teaching ministry at Infant Jesus School, which has a sizable number of Catholics. Sr Tara is the Superior of the convent and the Principal of the School that has now reached Standard IX. Having a large number of migrant populations, pastoral work forms a major ministry in this place. The Sisters also visit the slums nearby. The Infant Jesus Church at the basement draws large number of devotees who seek solace in prayer.
