The new shoot of Bethany family, Casa Bethania, sprung up in the eternal city of Vatican on 08.09.2018, on the solemnity of Nativity of our Blessed Mother.
15th community of the Delegation Abroad officially had its beginning in the house of Capuchin priests of Ethiopia and Eretria. This house is situated in the Vatican where Pope Benedict passes through for his Rosary.
The community was officially erected with a Eucharistic celebration in English officiated by Fr Hiale Mariam Woraku, the new Vice Rector of the College and concelebrated by Fr Amanuel, the Rector and other two priests.
Sr Jossy Maria, the Delegation Councillor, gave a short introduction for Mass in Italian. Thereafter, the sisters entered the chapel with lighted candles singing Bethany Anthem. During the homily, Fr Hiale Mariam Woraku, the main celebrant highlighted the importance of building a community integrating the role of Martha and Mary.
Sr Carmella, the Delegation Superior of the Delegation Abroad, read the Decree of erection on behalf of Sr Rose Celine the Superior General. At the conclusion of the Mass, she expressed words of gratitude on behalf of the Superior General.
Later in the afternoon, Sr Maggie Crasta was installed, the Superior of Casa Bethania with Sr Sylvinelatha, Sr Lucy Lanjiklu the members and Sr Anitha Stephen and Sr Alveena Clare, student sisters. Sr Adu Celine and Sr Pramila Ekka pursuing their language study in Italian, were present as representatives from the communities of Acquaviva and Caritas, Italy.
