“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” (Romans 14:8)
True to these words Sr Noella BS, lived for the Lord during her life time and died for the Lord when the Master called her; for she belonged to the Lord.
Sr M Noella BS (75) nee Lilly Miranda of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany of Western Province, passed away on February 20, 2021. She lived her religious life for 53 years. She is the member of the Presentation Convent, Dharwad and hails from Belthangady, Mangalore. She is the daughter of Late Mr Jacob Miranda and Late MrsFlorine D’ Souza. She is the eldest among the three siblings in the family and she has a niece in the same congregation Sr FelcyVeigas who is in Vadagam, Gujarat of Mangalore Province.Herfuneral mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, Dharwad on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 11.00am. It will be officiatedby Bishop Derek Fernandes, Bishop of Belgaum Diocese.
Sr Noella was affectionate, quiet and unassuming in nature. She was looked upon as a deeply prayerful religious. She was a source of comfort to the sick, elderly and the lonely. As an effective teacher in the primary schools, she gave her very best, in loving service to one and all. After her retirement she was engaged in pastoral work and teaching of catechism to the little ones. Her fidelity to prayer throughout her religious life was an example to many.Gentleness, simplicity, charity and humility were her outstanding qualities.
She joined the Presentation Community in June 2020 and was on medication for various age related health complications. As usual this morning she participated in the Holy Eucharist in the Convent Chapel and received holy communion.A little later she complained of uneasiness and nausea. In no time, she surrendered her soul to her spouse Jesus peacefully in the presence of the community members at 12 Noon.
I extend my sincere condolences to Sr Sally, the Provincial Superior and her team as well as Sr Archana, the Superior and the community sisters at Presentation Convent, Dharwad for the loving care that they bestowed on her especially during her illness.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord,Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace!
