Sr M Carmencita BS of the Holy Family went to her eternal abode on 2 May 2024 at Maryvale Convent, Kinnigoli at the age of 85. Sr Carmencita nee Monthi Mary Cutinha the daughter of the late PiadCutinha and the late Paskine DCosta was born on 3 September 1939 in the Parish ofOur Lady of Remedies Church,Kirem of Mangalore Diocese.

Sr Carmencita hails from a large family of 10 children. After her early education in Karkal and Rosa Mystica she joined the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany on 30 June 1967. She was perpetually professed on 12 May1976 at Rosa Mystica Convent, Kinnikambla. After her Perpetual Profession she served as a craft teacher and typist in different communities of Mangalore Province- Neerude, Nirkan,Balkunje,Kulshekar, Taccode, Moodubelle, Kadaba, Padukone, Siddakatte, Bajpeand Rosa Mystica, Kinnikambla.

Sr Carmencita is a simple, hardworking, committed religious who spent most of her life in humble service to the poor and the needy. She was generous, kind, compassionate and a thoughtful religious.Her respect, loveand obedience towards authority is praise worthy. She was ever ready and willing to go to any place to serve the Lord. She had great love for manual work andworked hard in the compound and also in the management of the house. She has touched many hearts while rendering her selfless service to the little ones in the hostel as assistant warden. She loved visiting the sick and suffering and offered prayer and comfort to them. She attracted everyone through her jovial and witty nature.

Sr Carmencita was in Maryvale Convent, Kinnigoli since 2019. As she was unable for active service, she spent her days praying before the Blessed Sacrament and interceding for the needs of the world. She suffered from age related illness likediabetes, hyper tension and heart disease. In the early hours of 2 May 2024, as she was waiting to meet the Lord in the Eucharist, the Lord himself came to meet her as she passed away to His heavenly abode due to heart attack at 6.15 am.
Her funeral rites will be held on Friday 3 May 2024 at 10.15 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Kinnigoli.

sistersof Mangalore Province, Sr Premalatha the local superior and the members of the Maryvale Convent, Kinnigoli.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace.
