Sr M Hariette BS nee Cloty Benedicta Crasta (80) a member of Silchar Province, in the Congregation of Bethany, passed away on Friday 5April2024 at 8.07 am. She was a member of Madonna Convent Kolasib, Mizoram.
Sr Hariette hails from Kannada Kudru,Gangolli, belonging to Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Gangolli, Udupi Diocese. She was born into aGod-fearing family of late Mr Jerome Crasta and late MrsRemegius Lewis as the seventh of eight children. She is the younger sister of late Sr Carmelita BS whom the Lord called to himself a year ago.
Sr Hariette was a very simple and humble, obedient and hard-working sister, willing to walk an extra mile anytime.Over and above, she was prayerful and was a great intercessor, all through her life till the end. She was gracefuland pleasant person to live with. She had great concern for Sisters;was caring towards the sick and the poor. She would actively take part in all the community exercises.
Sr Hariette has rendered her commendable services both in India and Abroad. She came to Kolasib in Mizoram, North East India in 1963 and served as a veteran missionaryatSilchar, Aizawl,Viswema, Rome, Germany, Shillong and Bethany Convent, Mangalore. She rendered yeoman service at Madonna Education Centre (NIOS) at Kolasib.
She was suffering due todiabetes for 30 years and was on regular medication.From February 2024 onwards, she became very weak physically and was unable to manage her needs. On 2 March, she took very ill and was shifted to Hospital in Silcharwhere she suffered a stroke she was put on life support.After a few daysshe was brought to Holy Family Convent, Silchar where sisters could be around her in her last days praying for her. But on 4 April her condition grew very critical and she breathed her last on the 5 April, 2024 at Green Heals Hospital, Silchar, Assam.Her funeral rites will be held atSt Joseph the Worker Parish,Kolasib on 6 April, 2024 at 1.00pm.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace.
