On April 27, 2024, a significant ceremony of Perpetual Profession took place in Bargarh, Odisha. It was an exciting day for Sr Monica Beck, Sr Asha Toppo, Sr Arati Lakra, of Eastern Province and Sr Amrita Tete and Sr Amrita Ekka, of Northern Province as they walked towards the aisles with their loved ones.
The day began with a prayer hour led by Sr. Arpan, Assistant Provincial Superior, Northern Province, focussing on the aspect of being "the clay" in the hands of the Lord "You are the Potter and I am the Clay". This theme emphasized the sisters' surrender and willingness to be moulded by the Lordin his image and likeness.
The Eucharistic Celebration, officiated by Bishop Niranjan Sualsingh, and concelebrated by five priests was the focus of the ceremony. Sr. Sandhya, the General Councillor representing the Superior General, received the vows. Sr Jessy Maria, the Provincial Superior of Eastern Province and Sr Erasma, the Provincial Superior of Northern Province were the witnesses when the sisters professed their vows at the altar. The litany of the saints was a special feature of the ceremony. The professed sisters experienced that they were enveloped by the choirs of angels and the hosts of saints as the invocation was going on.
Bishop Niranjan Sualsingh's homily underscored the importance of personal prayer and community living in navigating through the challenges of religious life. He highlighted the distinction between transitory worldly attractions and the enduring love of Jesus. He further highlighted the importance of forgiveness and mutual understanding within the religious community for a fulfilling life.

Sr. Sandhya's address during the felicitation program acknowledged the inherent joys and challenges of religious life, highlighting the need for strength and grace from God. She urged families to support their daughters' vocations and to offer continuous prayers. The presence of Bethany Sisters from the neighbouring communities and other religious communities added to the solemnity of the occasion. The participation of the sisters' relatives, witnessing a religious ceremony for the first time was indeed a spiritual experience. The able leadership of Sr Jessy Maria in organising this event well in advance along with her Councillors Sr Anita Moras, Sr Margarita, Sr Christine Noronha and Sr Angelita helped all the sisters to carry on their responsibilities in a smooth manner.
We thank the Lord for our five sisters who are groomed by him through the instrumentality of the Sr Bridget Puspha Das, the Tertian Directress, Sr Anita Stephen and Sr Sylvie Rodrigues, her Assistants, the formators at all the stages, and the community members. Their experience in the mission has surely strengthened their vocation. May God bless the newly professed sisters. Congratulations dear sisters!
