Sr Mary Pinto BS (67) of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore, passed away on Tuesday 1 December 2020. She is a member of Bethany Convent Jharmunda, Orissa. She is the daughter of late MrAveline Pinto and late Mrs Cocess Pinto and hails from St Patrick’s Church, Siddakatte, Bantwal, in the Diocese of Mangalore. She had four brothers of whom two are surviving.Herfuneral Mass will be held at Bethany Convent, Badibahal , Orissa on Wednesday, 2 December at 4 pm.
Sr Mary was prayerful, kind and gentle. She was hardworking, committed and faithful to the mission. She served as an effective teacher of primary school children. She always had a smile on her face. After completing her TTC in Mysore, in 1980 she had rendered loving service with dedication in our communities and institutions at Sultanpur, Faridabad, Mercara, Mahim, Greater Noida, Naini, Berhampur and Jharmunda. She showed special aptitude for education as well as social work ministry.
She has been under medication for various sicknesses. I extend my sincere condolences to Sr Shaila, the Provincial Superior of Eastern Province and her team as well as Sr Supreetha, the Superior and the members of the community at Bethany Convent, Jharmunda, Orissa.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace!
